What is AssessAI?
AssessAI is an AI-powered hiring assessment platform built for the era of AI-assisted work. Where platforms like HackerRank test how fast candidates write code, AssessAI tests something far more durable: how well candidates think about building products.
Recruiters paste a job description, and our AI generates tailored system design questions matched to the role. Candidates answer through structured sections covering requirements, high-level design, tradeoffs, and scalability — or work collaboratively with an AI assistant to produce a deliverable. An LLM-as-a-Judge pipeline then evaluates each response across five dimensions of product thinking, producing a detailed scorecard with a clear hiring recommendation.
The result: consistent, objective, role-specific signal at the top of the hiring funnel — without scheduling a single interview or spending a single engineer-hour.
Mission
Hiring decisions should be made on signal, not noise. Our mission is to give every hiring team access to the same quality of evaluation that top engineering organizations apply — consistent, structured, and grounded in how candidates actually think, not how well they perform under artificial test conditions.
We believe the skills that matter most in 2026 are judgment, systems thinking, and the ability to work effectively with AI. AssessAI is built to measure exactly those things.
Vision
The hiring industry is broken. Companies spend $3,000–$14,000 per engineering hire on interviews that are inconsistent, biased by interviewer mood, and test the wrong things. Meanwhile, AI is transforming how engineers work — the real differentiator is no longer who writes the fastest code, but who thinks most clearly about building products.
AssessAI exists to fix this. We're building the standard for evaluating product thinking at scale — a world where every candidate gets a fair, consistent, evidence-based assessment, and every hiring team gets actionable signal instead of gut feelings.
Our long-term vision is to become the default assessment layer for technical hiring globally — integrated into every ATS, accessible via MCP for AI-native workflows, and trusted by teams from seed-stage startups to Fortune 500 engineering orgs.

I'm Rohan — an engineer who builds products and ships them. AssessAI is a solo-built product born from a simple frustration: the gap between how companies hire technical talent and the skills that actually predict success.
I've spent years working across engineering, product, and AI. I noticed that the best engineers aren't the ones who solve LeetCode problems fastest — they're the ones who think deeply about systems, weigh tradeoffs, and build with the user in mind. No assessment platform tested for that. So I built one.
AssessAI is designed, developed, and operated by me — from the LLM-as-a-Judge evaluation pipeline to the 275+ curated question bank to the anti-cheating telemetry system. Every line of code, every prompt, every scoring dimension.
